Inflation falls
NEW DELHI,
JAN. 20.
Continuing with the downward spiral, inflation fell to a 31-week low of 5.6 per cent for the week ended January 8, despite a hike in prices of electricity, vegetables, non-food articles and manufactured products. Inflation, calculated on the basis of the Wholesale Price Index came down marginally by 0.18 percentage point during the week from 5.78 per cent in the previous week, mainly due to a fall in prices of some food articles. Inflation was higher at 6.63 per cent a year ago. Our Special Correspondent
