Balasubramanian to head City Union Bank

CHENNAI,
JAN. 20.
The Reserve Bank of India has approved the appointment of S. Balasubramanian as the Chairman of the Kumbakonam-based City Union Bank (CUB). Mr. Balasubramanian is now the Executive Director of the bank at non-board level. He will be inducted into the board of the bank shortly before his assumption of the Chairmanship.He will have a three-year term from the date his assuming office.
In a telephone conversation with this correspondent, Mr. Balasubramanian said CUB was well equipped to adapt to the unfolding changes in the global banking environment. Yet, he said, CUB had to constantly strive to have a customer-friendly technology upgradation programme.
