HYDERABAD, JAN. 20. Several leading players, including former champion Tamarine Tanasugarn and last year's runner-up Maria Kirilenko will be in fray at the Hyderabad Open 2005 WTA tennis tournament, which is to be held here under the aegis of the SAAP and AP Tourism at the Lal Bahadur stadium complex from Feb. 7 to 12. This was announced in a statement released here on Thursday. The cut-off has been applied at a world ranking of 148.

The list of participants includes the winner of the inaugural 2003 edition of the WTA Indian Open, Tanasugarn, and the runner-up at last year's tournament, Maria Kirilenko, who had lost to Nicole Pratt of Australia.

Tanasugarn, who was the crowd favourite at the first-ever Hyderabad Open and had won the title by beating Iroda Tulyaganova, is from Thailand and has won eight ITF women's singles titles.

Other stars at the Hyderabad Open 2005 include former world no. 20, Tatiana Panova, the world's fastest rising tennis player Na Li, former junior French Open champion Anna-Lena Groenefeld and Iroda Tulyaganova.
