Huge haul of explosives

KARIMNAGAR,
JAN. 20.
The Jagtial sub-division police on Thursday seized huge quantity of explosives, including slurry gelatines and detonators, and apprehended two persons.
According to the Jagtial Circle-Inspector, Mohd. Habeeb Khan, in view of the movement of Maoist naxalites in the district, the police were conducting the routine vehicle checking on the outskirts of Chelgal village in the Jagtial rural police station limits. During the checking of a jeep, they found huge boxes containing explosives and recovered 23 boxes with 4,600 slurry gelatine sticks, three boxes containing 4,600 electric detonators and 11 kg of non-electrical fuses.
The police arrested the jeep driver, Bikshapathi, and another person, Tirupathi. The accused were procuring explosives from Nalgonda district to Mallapur in Karimnagar.
