KOCHI, JAN. 20. The 18th KRL marathon, organised by the Kochi Refineries as part of the oil and gas conservation fortnight, will be flagged off from the Hill Palace Police Ground here on January 23. The event will be conducted under five categories boys and girls (10-15 years), men and women (16 and above) and veteran men (above 40). The full marathon is only for men, for the others there will be a half marathon. The run will pass through Chithrapuzha, Irumpanam, Kakkanad, South Kalamassery, Highway, Cochin University and return to the Police Ground through the same route. Kerala Sports Minister Dominic Presentation will flag off the marathon which carries a total prize fund of Rs 1.5 lakh. Interested runners are to report at the Hill Palace A.R.
