Kalam, Sonia extend Id greetings

NEW DELHI, JAN. 20. The President, A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, and the Congress president, Sonia Gandhi, have greeted people on the occasion of Idu'l Zuha that is being celebrated tomorrow.

In his message, Mr. Kalam said the festival of Idu'l Zuha represents the noble causes of love, sacrifice and submission to the will of God. "Festivals are occasions for all of us to come forward in the service of humanity and try and lessen the pain of people in need."

It was also an opportunity to dedicate "ourselves to the cause of service to those who are suffering from the natural calamity which hit some of our coastal areas recently."

Ms. Gandhi, wished peace and prosperity to the people.
