Security tightened in Bangalore
By Our Staff Reporter
BANGALORE,
JAN. 20.
The police have tightened security in Bangalore for the "Festival of Blessings" to commence here on Friday and the Bangalore bandh called by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) against the event.
Additional forces will be deployed at Jakkur airfield where the event will be held for three days. Traffic on Bellary Road and adjoining roads is likely to be affected because of the event, the police said.
Meanwhile, a spokesman of the BJP said the party has plans to take out processions in each Assembly segment in the city on Friday. "We will request owners of shops and other business establishments to down shutters in support of the bandh," he added.
