BANGALORE, JAN. 20. The fourth International Society for Third Sector Research (ISTR) Asia and Pacific Regional conference will be held here on November 16, 17 and 18 at Bangalore University. The Vice-Chancellor of Bangalore University, M.S. Thimmappa, inaugurated the conference website on Thursday. The conference is being jointly organised by the Acharya Institute of Management and Science, the Third Sector Research Group India (TSRGI), University of Mysore and the Bangalore University. It is partly supported by the International Society for Third Sector Research, John Hopkins University in the U.S. Prof. Thimmappa said the theme of the conference was "Civil society and social justice" and it will focus on topics such as third sector and disaster management, third sector and inclusive development, impact and challenges of globalisation, values of governance and the third sector, co-operatives and self-help groups, inequalities and empowerment. Delegates from over 20 countries in the Asia Pacific region, including Japan and Australia, will attend the conference. Naresh Kumar of the Acharya Institute of Management and Science and one of the organising secretaries of the conference said the website (www.4istrapac.com) has information on registration, registration forms and other details on the conference.
