NEW DELHI, JAN. 21. In line with its sales target of $2 billion by 2007, Ranbaxy Laboratories today went in for a major top-level managerial restructuring which, apart from internal reshuffles, saw outside inductions as well. Ramesh Adige, Vice-President (Corporate Affairs), was elevated to the board of directors of the company while R. Sundar Rajan from Wipro was taken in as Vice President (Legal). Additionally, seven senior executives of the company have been promoted as vice-presidents. The Ranbaxy CEO and Managing Director, Brian Tempest, said, "I am pleased by the infusion of high calibre talent into our top management team. This group is now 30 strong with 27 Vice-Presidents and three Executive Directors.'' Among those promoted from within the company, R. Gowrishankar has been elevated to the position of Vice President, Clinical Research, and Jim Meehan appointed Vice President, Sales, Marketing and Distribution. Among those promoted as vice presidents are: Omesh Sethi (now CFO of Ranbaxy U.S. operations), Arun Nayyar (managing business in Latin America), Ranjit Barshikar (Head of global quality), Ramesh Parekh (who will be responsible for Ranbaxy's secondary manufacturing operations in India) and S. C. Agrawal (tax professional). PTI
