BARIPADA, JAN 21 . Three persons, including an NRI couple were killed when the ambassador car in which they were travelling collided head-on with an oil tanker near Hatijhuri under Baisinga police station, about 40 km from here today. Police said the couple had been identified as London- based doctors Indranil Bagchi (40) and his wife Rita Bagchi, who were on their way from Kolkata to Puri for a holiday. The couple and the driver of the car died on the spot. The bodies were being brought here for post-mortem. The identity of the victims could not be initially established, but police recovered a mobile phone from the car through which their family members could be contacted, the sources said. The traffic on the highway was disrupted for some time following the accident. Police had registered a case and the tanker, which was on its way from Balasore to Baripada, had been seized, the sources added. -- PTI
