Man attempts suicide
NEW DELHI,
JAN. 21.
A 50-year-old man allegedly attempted to commit suicide by setting himself afire in a park near Dilli Haat at Sarojini Nagar in South-West Delhi yesterday.
According to the police, the man, identified as Ramesh alias Shankar, who used to sell tea by the roadside outside Safdarjung Hospital, set himself afire in the park around 4-30 p.m. He was admitted to Safdarjung Hospital with burn injuries. He has been declared unfit for statement.
The police said the exact reason behind Ramesh trying to take the extreme step was not clear and they were waiting for his statement.
