VELLORE, JAN. 21. Though the charge sheet has been filed against the Kanchi Sankaracharya, Sri Jayendra Saraswathi, in the Sankararaman murder case, no decision appears to have been taken by the Acharya on his return to the Sankara Mutt at Kancheepuram. He has been staying in the Sankara Mutt at Kalavai in Vellore district ever since he was released from the Central Prison here on January 11. One of the bail conditions imposed on him by the Supreme Court is that he should not visit the Kanchi Mutt till the charge sheet is filed. ``He continues to stay in the Mutt here,'' was the cryptic reply by a Kalavai Mutt official when contacted. Another official told newspersons waiting outside the Kalavai Mutt that information on the filing of the charge sheet had been conveyed to the Acharya and that he had not given any thought to the question of leaving Kalavai for Kancheepuram. Security was tightened by the Mutt officials at Kalavai today after the filing of the charge sheet. Devotees who were let in for `darshan' of the Sankaracharya after ascertaining their identity till Thursday were today frisked and their baggage was checked before being allowed inside. Among those who visited the Acharya on Friday were R.N. Tiwari, Special Representative of the Jharkhand Government in New Delhi, and Sahay, a National Security Guards official from New Delhi. While Mr. Tiwari said he was a devotee of the Sankara Mutt, the visit of the NSG official was described as ``personal.''
