KARAIKUDI, JAN. 21. Kendriya Vidyalaya beat St. Joseph's Matriculation School, Sivagangai by five wickets and entered the semifinals of the Sivagangai District Schools cricket tournament here on Friday.

The scores (quarterfinals): St. Joseph's Matriculation School 80 in 18.4 overs (Srilam four for 11) lost to Kendriya Vidyalaya 82 for five in 18.4 overs.

Maharishi Vidya Mandir 48 in 7.3 overs lost to Infant Jesus Matriculation School, Devakottai 49 for five in 10.3 overs.

Sri Meenakshi Sundareswarar Vidyasala 137 for four in 20 overs bt Muthiah Alagappa MHSS, Kottaiyur 121 for six in 20 overs (Arun Kumar 41 not out).

Alagappa MHSS 111 in 18.5 overs lost to Little Flower Roman Catholic School 112 for six in 17.3 overs.
