MANGALORE, JAN. 21. Suraksha Dental Clinic and Trauma Care Centre, Hosangadi, will organise a free oral health camp for rural people at Bellare in Sullia taluk on Sunday. The organisers aim at covering at least 1,000 people during the camp to be held on the Government Junior College premises in Bellare. The former Minister, B. Ramanath Rai, will inaugurate the camp. According to the organiser, Muralee Mohan, most rural people are ignorant about oral health. Often, people go to village doctors seeking cure for their oral health related problems and come to oral and maxillo-facial surgeons when the problem is at an advanced stage. The camp seeks to create awareness on oral health amongst these people. The camp also seeks to dispel the notion that dental treatment is a costly affair. According to him, early diagnosis can prevent this. Physicians conducting the camp will educate people on problems caused by consumption of tobacco. Medicine will be given to deserving patients.
