Protest by loco running staff

CHENNAI, JAN. 21. Loco running staff, affiliated to the Southern Railway Mazdoor Union, shouted slogans during a demonstration in front of the Moore Market Complex here today.

The railwaymen are demanding revision of the running allowance, extension of safety-related retirement scheme to all loco running staff who have completed 20 years of service, alternative appointments for those who are medically decategorised with retirement benefits applicable to the running staff and an insurance cover of Rs. 5 lakhs.
