BANGALORE, JAN. 21. R. Jayaprasad, Technical Adviser to Bangalore Mahanagara Palike, has been selected for a "special achievement" award from the Petroleum Conservation Research Association of the Union Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, "for outstanding contribution in the transport sector." A press release from the BMP said the award honoured individuals who contributed to conserving petroleum products. Mr. Jayaprasad worked in the National Highway/Zone for 27 years as engineer and retired as chief engineer there. He will receive the award on January 31 at Nehru Memorial Auditorium, Teen Murthi Bhavan, New Delhi, at the valedictory function of the `Oil and Gas Conservation Fortnight 2005.'
