Five killed in accident

CHITRADURGA,
JAN. 22.
Five persons were killed on the spot and five injured when two trucks collided on National Highway No. 4 at Hiriyur in Chitradurga district on Saturday morning.
The deceased have been identified as Sangameshwar (28) of Shahapur in Gulbarga district, Thirukappa (30) from Kadari village in Ranebennur taluk, Hanumanthappa (35) and Dyamappa (22) of Kakol village in Ranebennur taluk. The other victim is yet to be identified.
According to sources, a truck coming from Mumbai collided with another going towards Chitradurga at around 4.30 a.m. The injured have been admitted to the hospital at Hiriyur.
The police have registered a case and investigation is on.
