Letters to the Editor
Sir, In the continuing saga of the Sankaraman murder case, it is unfortunate that the police are misusing the law and the infamous Goondas Act.
Dr. Vaidyanathan Swaminathan,
Sir, Laws such as the Goondas Act are imposed against habitual offenders, bootleggers and drug peddlers, not those facing trial. Will human right activists take note?
N. Nagaraj Rao,
Sir, The manager of the Kanchi Mutt is neither a habitual offender nor a gang leader to warrant arrest under the Goondas Act. Political parties and the media who were vociferously protesting against the misuse of the Prevention of Terrorism Act should come forward to protest against the misuse of this Act. L. Alamelu, Chennai
