DAVANGERE, JAN. 23. Y. Nagappa, Social Welfare Minister and district in-charge, did not attend the public meeting held at Pandomatti near Chennagiri on Sunday, in which the Chief Minister, N. Dharam Singh, participated. This was the first public meeting attended by the Chief Minister after Dr. Nagappa became a Minister. According to practice, the district in-charge usually greets the Chief Minister when the latter visits any part of the district. Hence, Dr. Nagappa's absence at the meeting has come as a surprise to many, including a few MLAs.
