CHENNAI, JAN. 23. Coastal FC, Thiruvananthapuram beat Tamil Nadu Football Association XI (Under-19) 3-2 for a place in the quarterfinal passage on Sunday in the Fr McFerran trophy all India football tournament being organised by DBYC Wisdom Town, Red Hills. A huge holiday crowd saw the visiting team taking the initiative through Shaji Varghese in the 13th minute. Pavalannan off a pass from Ramesh restored parity (26'). Coastal went ahead again in the 29th minute (Simon Cox) before Shantakumar equalised in the 73rd minute. Within a minute Coastal edged ahead through D. Thomas and that proved the match winner.
