Mathias, Sujith bag INRC overall classification prize

MUMBAI, JAN. 23. The overall classification prize of the Indian National Rally Championship (INRC) 2004 went to MRF's Vikram Mathias and Sujith Kumar at the annual awards function of the Motorsports Association of India (MAI). MRF also won the team championship and Vehicle Preparation awards.

Mr. Sunil Dutt, Minister for Sports & Youth Affairs, presided over the function. The prizes for MRF were received by Anthony Rodrigues, GM, Advertising, MRF (team championship) and J. Anand.

The prize winners:

Kadet — Indian National Karting Championship (INKC): 1. Vishnu Prasad (Chennai), 2. Ajay Kini (Chen), 3. Chittesh Mandody (Mah); Seniors (INKC): 1. Ashok Jadhav (Mumbai), 2. Deepak Paul Chinnappa (Bangalore), 3. Preetham Muniyappa (Bgl).

Asian Zone National Karting Championship: 1. Charlie Charles (Malaysia), 2. Preetham Muniyappa (Bgl), 3. Mikko Nassi (Mal); Rallying Trophies: Vehicle Preparation: J. Anand (MRF), Outstanding performance by a novice Gypsy driver: Gaurav Chiripal, Outstanding performance by a novice driver: Rajesh Gadhakh, INRC Event of the year 2004: MAK WISA Nashik Rally.
