KANCHEEPURAM, JAN. 23. Temporary dwelling units built for the tsunami affected families in Kalpakkam has been handed over to the beneficiaries. While temporary dwelling units were allotted to 135 families in Nemilikuppam, 45 units were handed over to the affected families at Pudu Idaiyur in Kalpakkam by the Handlooms Minister, V. Somasundaram. The Minister said relief materials such as 60 kg of rice, saree, dhoti, blankets, 3 litres of kerosene and Rs. 4,000 each to 10,000 families were distributed. Fresh ration cards to 1,058 families, which have lost their belongings in the tsunami attack, were also distributed. Apart from this, financial assistance of Rs. 5,000 each to 11 persons was given.
