Isolated light rain likely in coastal T.N.

CHENNAI, JAN. 24. Isolated rainfall occurred over Rayalaseema, Telangana, Kerala and south interior Karnataka. Mainly dry weather prevailed over Lakshadweep and dry weather prevailed over Tamil Nadu, coastal Andhra Pradesh, coastal and north interior Karnataka.

The chief amounts of rainfall recorded in cms. are: Kanjirapally (Kottayam dt.) 2 and Mancompu (Alapuzha dt.) and Kurnool 1 each.

The minimum temperature fell appreciably at one or two places over Karnataka, north Tamil Nadu, coastal Andhra Pradesh, fell at one or two places over north coastal Tamil Nadu, south coastal Andhra Pradesh, north interior Karnataka, rose at one or two places over Rayalaseema, interior Tamil Nadu, south interior Karnataka and changed little elsewhere over the region.

They were markedly above normal at one or two places over north coastal Andhra Pradesh, appreciably above normal at one or two places over Andhra Pradesh, south interior Karnataka, Kerala, above normal at a few places over Tamil Nadu, at one or two places over south Kerala, rest Andhra Pradesh, below normal at one or two places over south coastal Andhra Pradesh and were generally normal over the rest of the region.

Belgaum Airport recorded the lowest minimum temperature of 14 degree Celsius in the plains of the region.

Forecast (valid until Wednesday morning): Isolated light rain is likely to occur coastal Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry, Telangana, south Kerala and Lakshadweep. Mainly dry weather will prevail over interior Tamil Nadu, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema, Karnataka and north Kerala.

Farmers' weather bulletin for Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry forecast (valid until Wednesday morning): Isolated light rain is likely to occur over coastal Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry. Mainly sunny weather will prevail over rest of Tamil Nadu.
