Judicial custody extended for junior Acharya

KANCHEEPURAM,
JAN. 24.
The Kancheepuram judicial magistrate-I, G. Uthamaraj, today extended up to February 3 judicial custody for the junior Sankaracharya, Sri Vijayendra Saraswathi, in the Sankararaman murder case.
After the remand extension he was lodged again in the Chennai Central prison.
The special investigation team took the Acharya into its custody from 5 p.m. on January 18 to 5 p.m. on January 19 and interrogated him.
The judicial custody for the accused-turned approver, Ravi Subramaniam, and for the `fake surrenderees' `Dil' Pandian, Sathish, Arumugam, Arun and Devarajan was also extended up to February 3.
