35 RTC buses damaged

NIZAMABAD, JAN. 24. Telugu Desam Party workers on Monday damaged 35 RTC buses in the town. The police resorted to lathicharge at two places in the town to disperse the mob.

Sensing trouble, shopkeepers downed shutters.

Tension prevailed for a brief period when TDP workers went to the district Congress committee office.

However, the police swung into action and dispersed the mob.

Meet cancelled

TDP workers from all parts of the district arrived here for the extended meeting of the party in the afternoon.

After observing a two-minute silence and expressing sympathies to the bereaved family, the TDP leader, T. Devender Goud, announted that the meeting was cancelled.
