ERODE, JAN. 25 . Two persons, both from Rajasthan, have been arrested on Monday for lifting medicines, and Rs. 5.50 lakhs and medicines seized from them. According to the police, three cases of expensive medicines of specific companies being taken from pharmaceuticals here were reported. The godowns had been broken open at night. The Superintendent of Police, P. Balasubramanian, formed a special team comprising the Erode Town Deputy Superintendent of Police, R. Kolandaisamy, Inspectors Madharshah and S.M. Subramaniam, to nab the culprits. During a check, Prakash (25) and Babulal (27) were nabbed with some medicine boxes at a bus stop here. On interrogation, they confessed to the crime. Two cellular phones were also recovered. It is stated that they were also involved in three house breaking cases in Vellore and two in Villupuram. The two were remanded to judicial custody for 15 days.
