Medals for two Coast Guard personnel

NEW DELHI, JAN. 25. The President, A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, has conferred the Tatrakshak Medal to two Coast Guard personnel.

Commandant R. Makwana has been awarded the medal for saving a French national from drowning.

The rescue mission was accomplished from a helicopter. The second medal has been awarded to subordinate officer V. Natarajan for developing software leading to savings of crores of rupees.
