Man killed in fire accident

TUMKUR,
JAN. 25.
Dasappa (55) was charred to death when the hut he was sleeping in caught fire at Kibbanahalli Cross on National Highway No. 206 near here on Monday night.
The police said that at around 10 p.m., some people noticed the fire in the hut. Dasappa, who was sleeping in the hut, was burnt to death.
Balu, who shared the hut with Dasappa, had gone out for a drink when the fire occurred. A kerosene lamp caused the fire, the police said.
A fire tender extinguished the fire. The police shifted the body of Dasappa to a mortuary here.
H.R. Mahadevaiah, Deputy Superintendent of Police, visited the spot.
