Dry weather likely in Tamil Nadu

CHENNAI, JAN. 25. Northeast monsoon rains have ceased over Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry, Kerala and adjoining areas of Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka.

Isolated rainfall occurred over Tamil Nadu and Kerala. Mainly dry weather prevailed over Telangana and dry weather prevailed over coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema, Lakshadweep and Karnataka. Perumbavoor (Ernakulam dt.) recorded rainfall of 1centimetre.

The minimum temperature rose appreciably at one or two places over south interior Karnataka, rose at one or two places over north interior Karnataka, north interior Tamil Nadu, north coastal Andhra Pradesh and changed little elsewhere over the region.

They were appreciably to markedly above normal at many places over Andhra Pradesh, appreciably above normal at one or two places over interior Tamil Nadu, south interior Karnataka, north Kerala, above normal at a few places over rest Kerala, at one or two places over rest Tamil Nadu, north interior Karnataka, rest Andhra Pradesh and were generally normal over the rest of the region.

FORECAST (valid until Thursday morning): Mainly dry weather will prevail over Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala and Lakshadweep.
