CHENNAI, JAN. 25. The Indians had a fairly easy day as the boys and girls went on expected lines in the pool leagues to get ready for tougher contests ahead on the opening day of the team event competition in the Asian junior squash championship at the TNSRA courts here on Tuesday. In the four-team boys' pool `B', India had just one tie today and Korea proved no match for the host side. Saurav Ghosal led the way and Parthiban and Harinderpal Singh picked the thread to complete the rout. Kuwait, a strong rival for India in this pool, also had a flying start against Singapore. Pakistan did not need the services of Amir Atlas Khan, the newly-crowned Asian champion, for its match against lowly-placed Iran. Malaysia too trounced Iran. In the girls' section, despite being easy outings, Joshna played both the matches against Sri Lanka and Korea to set the path. Anwesha and Dipika Pallikal completed the 3-0 win over Sri Lanka, while Surbhi Misra and Dipika finished the task against Korea. With this two wins, India has virtually ensured a place in the semifinals.
