NAGERCOIL, JAN.25. The Tourism Minister, A. Miller, visited tsunami-affected Kanyakumari and other coastal areas of the district on Tuesday. He inspected the damaged boat jetty and watchtower and directed the officials to complete the renovation work at the earliest so that ferry service to the Vivekananda Rock and Thiruvalluvar Statue could be resumed in the first week of February. He also distributed financial assistance to the tune of Rs. 10.35 lakhs to 12 tsunami-affected self-help groups at Puthalam near Mela Manakudi.
