ISLAMABAD, JAN. 25. Pakistan has handed over a key Al-Qaeda figure wanted for the 1998 bombing of the U.S. embassies in East Africa to the United States. According to local television media reports, Tanzanian Ahmad Khalfan Ghailani, who is on the FBI's list of most wanted terrorists with a reward of $5 millions, was handed over to the U.S. a few weeks ago and he is believed to have been flown out of the country. He was picked up by Pakistani forces in the Punjab province in July last. The authorities said he was part of a "sleeper cell" and had received personal messages on computer discs from the Al-Qaeda chief, Osama bin Laden, ordering him to carry out attacks.
