Matrix Partners commences operation

BANGALORE: Matrix Partners, a venture capital firm from the U.S, has commenced operations in Bangalore to augment its investment plans in technology companies here. To start with it will be looking at companies into manufacturing products, then get into services. Disclosing the plans for India, the Managing Partner of Matrix, Timothy A.Barrows said the company would first support U.S. companies having stakes in India and subsequently make direct investments in Indian companies. As such, over one third of the companies it had funded had operations in India and this was likely to increase. Matrix would focus on early stage technology startups.
