Lawlessness in Bihar

Sir, — This refers to the kidnapping of 14-year-old Kishlay Komal, student of Patna's Delhi Public School, recently, and Ravikant, a ninth standard student, DAV school, on Monday.

Abduction is an almost every day affair in Bihar. But the kidnapping of school students exceeds limits of lawlessness. The State is paying the price of years of neglect.

Md. Mudassir Alam,
Aligarh, U.P.

Sir, — At last, it has been left to the school students of Bihar to protest in their uniforms against lawlessness. Their swelling numbers across the State and outside should make the authorities sit up and take note.

We hope at least the silent statement by the student community will compel those in power to act.

V.N. Ramachandran,
Vadodara, Gujarat
