Another cold wave forecast
By Our Special Correspondent
NEW DELHI,
JAN. 25.
Experts at the India Meteorological Department today forecast that another cold wave, with light to moderate snowfall in the upper reaches of the Himalayas and rainfall in other parts of north India was likely by the end of the week.
Talking to The Hindu, an IMD spokesperson said the fresh spell was likely to occur under the influence of a western disturbance. Similar weather is presently prevailing over Pakistan and it is expected to move in an east-north-east direction over the next two to three days.
As a consequence, there could be light to moderate snowfall in the upper reaches of the Himalayas and rain in other parts of north India and also a dip in the maximum temperature by the end of the week, resulting in a fresh cold spell.
