Centre buys IDFC equity
MUMBAI,
JAN. 25.
The Central Government today acquired the equity and subordinated debt of Infrastructure Development Finance Corporation (IDFC) owned by the Reserve Bank of India in the corporation. The RBI held equity and subordinated debt of IDFC amounting to Rs 150 crore and Rs 350 crore, respectively.
The subordinated debt was transferred against a new dated security, Government of India Floating Rate Bonds, 2035, which was issued to the RBI on a private placement basis.
