IT'S UNFAIR: Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy at a press meet in Hyderabad on Tuesday.
HYDERABAD, JAN. 25. Chief Minister Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy's son, Y. S. Jaganmohan Reddy, has refuted the charges levelled against him that he is involved in the killing of the Penukonda TDP MLA, Paritala Ravi. Addressing a press conference here on Tuesday, Mr. Reddy said a CBI or a judicial enquiry would bring out the truth. He expressed surprise at the TDP accusation and denied any role in the gruesome murder. He dismissed allegations that he had floated Jana Rakshana Samiti to eliminate his rivals in Anantapur. He observed that that the Penukonda MLA had made allegations only to secure enhanced security. "The TDP also believed his version and targeted me," he said adding that the TDP legislator had so many enemies, who were out to harm him. On inclusion of his name in the First Information Report, Mr. Reddy said he would happily cooperate with the investigating agencies. "I had myself demanded a CBI probe. I have nothing to worry as I am clean," he pointed out. He accused Mr. Chandrababu Naidu of resorting to emotional blackmail.
Charge against Naidu
He lamented that Mr. Naidu was desperate to malign the YS family by branding them factionists. "He is the biggest factionist in the State," Mr. Reddy said, questioning the former Chief Minister's act in continuing P. Ramasubba Reddy, who had been sentenced to life imprisonment in the Cabinet for seven years. He regretted that being the son of the Chief Minister was his biggest tragedy. " I am staying in Bangalore because opposition leaders would have accused me of being an extra-constitutional authority if I were to be present here."
It's unfair: Diwakar
Meanwhile, the Minister for Panchayat Raj, J.C. Diwakar Reddy, dismissed allegations of his involvement in the killing as a ``figment of imagination."
