Solitary goal win for JCT

MARGAO, JAN. 25. JCT put up an improved performance and scored a solitary goal win over Fransa Pax Sports Club in a third round match of the IX National Football League (NFL) at the Nehru stadium here on Tuesday. It was JCT's first win.

Baldip Singh outwitted two rival defenders and beat 'keeper Kalyan Chubey with an angular shot to break the deadlock in the 70th minute. He was later adjudged Man of the match. JCT collected three points from the win while Fransa Pax has four points.

Fransa failed to come up with the performance they displayed against East Bengal. Even though it had more of the possession, it failed to score as Joseph Ogor was off-colour.

Fransa found the net four minutes before the interval, but Sebastian Endro, who scored off a Jules Dias pass, was declared offside by referee K. Sankar. — PTI
