MUMBAI, JAN. 25. South Zone's bowling attack will be put to test in the second Deodhar Trophy game on Republic Day. Central Zone came within striking distance on a placid Nehru Stadium track at Pune in the opener. West Zone's batting is a totally different challenge, although a livelier Wankhede wicket affords hope. New ball bowlers Tinu Yohannan, R. Jesuraj and N.C. Aiyappa will find it difficult if the West top-order is allowed to get into groove. Dheeraj Jadhav and Satyajit Parab, upbeat after a record-breaking 258 partnership for the first wicket against East Zone on Sunday, can be expected to continue in the same vein.
West Zone: Ajit Agarkar (captain), Vinayak Mane, Amol Muzumdar, Satyajit Parab, Yusuf Pathan, Rajesh Pawar, Irfan Pathan (sr), Parthiv Patel (wicketkeeper), Akash Christian, Niraj Patel, Siddharth Trivedi, Dhiraj Jadhav, Ranjit Khirid, Dhruv Mohan and Jaydev Shah.
South Zone: V.V.S. Laxman (captain), N. Arjun Yadav, Vishnuvardhan, Venugopala Rao, Sridharan Sriram, Vidyut Sivaramakrishnan, S. Badrinath, Dinesh Kaarthick (wicket-tkeeper), R. Jesuraj, N.C. Aiyappa, Barrington Rowland, Tinu Yohannan, Sreekumar Nair, Swapnil Asnodkar, M.R. Shrinivas, Ibrahim Khaleel, Anirudh Singh, Sher Bahadur Yadav.
