Suresh rallies to win

VISAKHAPATNAM, JAN. 25. A few tough matches were witnessed in the main draw of the AITA veteran ranking tournament which commenced at Kakinada on Tuesday. The tournament is being held as part of the 28th Circars tournament.

In the plus 45 years category, M.Suresh defeated A.S. Khan 2-6, 6-4, 6-3, while H.S. Sarma downed J. Shyam Sunder 7-6 (8-6), 0-6, 6-1 and V.N. Murthy prevailed over B.Ram Mohan Rao 7-6 (7-3), 6-3 and M. Varahalayya accounted for D.S.N. Raju 7-6 (7-4), 6-4 in the plus 55 years event.

The plus 65 years singles saw K.N. Raja Reddy dropping a set before beating B. Shanta Rami Reddy 2-6, 6-2, 6-1, D.D. Rao eliminating R. Subba Rao 6-4, 7-6 (7-5) and C. Radhakrishna edged out K. Premchand 2-6, 6-3, 6-2.
