New RAW chief

NEW DELHI, JAN. 25. P.K. Hormese Tharakan, a senior IPS officer of the Kerala cadre (1968 batch) was today appointed chief of the Research and Analysis Wing (RAW). Mr. Tharakan, now Director-General of Police, Kerala, will replace C.D. Sahay, who retires on January 31. Jyoti Sinha, Special Director in RAW, has put in his papers as his claim for the top post was overlooked.
