Deve Gowda criticises BJP for anti-Hinn protest

HASSAN, JAN. 25. The former Prime Minister and President of the Janata Dal (Secular), H.D. Deve Gowda, today defended his attending the "Festival of Blessings" programme addressed by the American evangelist Benny Hinn in Bangalore.

Mr. Gowda initially refused to react to questions from presspersons here on the matter. However, lashing out at critics later, he asked as to whose permission he should seek to attend a religious programme. "Should I get a visa or passport from my critics to attend a religious function?"
