CHENNAI, JAN. 25. The Tamil Nadu Cooperative Milk Producers Federation has offered to supply Aavin milk at a concessional price for bulk purchase to catering contractors and wedding hall owners in Chennai, Kancheepuram and Tiruvllur districts. According to a federation press release, a concession of one rupee a litre will be given to those who purchase standardised milk of 4.5 per cent fat content and 50 paise a litre for double toned milk of two per cent fat content and high fat buffalo milk. To avail the concession, catering contractors and wedding hall owners should register their names with the federation, the release added. Federation officials said on an average one lakh litres of milk were being lifted by the catering contractors on a "muhurat" day. The contractors were now purchasing milk mostly from private diaries. Aavin wanted to make an entry into the market by offering concessions to the contractors, they added.
