TIRUCHI, JAN. 25. Members of parties today paid homage to language martyrs at their samadhis situated at Anna Nagar in the city today. The Union Minister for Road Transport, Highways and Shipping, T.R.Baalu, led a march of the DMK cadres from the Thennur High Road to the martyrs' memorial. The partymen paid floral tributes to the martyrs, Keezhapazhur Chinnasamy and Virallimalai Shanmugham, who laid down their lives during the anti-Hindi struggle. Former Minister K.N.Nehru and the Deputy Mayor, M.Anbazhagan, and others were present. Earlier in the day, the AIADMK cadres led by the urban and rural district secretaries of the party, Mariam Pitchai, and M.Paranjothi, paid their respects at the memorial. Cadres of various other political parties and organisations also paid their respects at the samadhis today.
