TIRUCHI, JAN. 25. Security has been stepped up at the Tiruchi railway junction as a precautionary measure in connection with the Republic Day celebrations tomorrow. Government Railway Police sources here today said door-frame metal detector had been installed at the junction to check the passengers and policemen posted there had been provided with hand-held metal detectors to check their belongings. The sources said that around 25 GRP personnel had been posted at the junction to keep a round-the-clock vigil in the station. The security checks would continue till January 27, the sources added.
