Temperature

MADURAI, JAN.25. The city today registered a maximum temperature of 33.1 degree Celsius and a minimum temperature of 21.6 degree Celsius.

Water level

The level in the Periyar dam today stood at 112.40 feet with an inflow of 55 cusecs and a discharge of 250 cusecs. The level in the Vaigai dam was 35.17 feet with a discharge of 1880 cusecs. The combined Periyar storage was 1517 mcft.

Birth anniversary

The 422nd birth anniversary of King Tirumalai Nayak was celebrated at the Tirumalai Nayak Mahal at a function here today.

Members of different organisations garlanded the Tirumalai Nayak's statue at the Mahal on the occasion.

Those who spoke on the occasion urged the State Government to allot more funds to beautify this monument.

Officials of the State Archaeological Department were also present during the function.
