The contributors were: Tea Trade Association (Rs.1.10 lakhs), Gold-Silver Merchants Association (Rs.52,500), Hairdressers Association (Rs.49,700), T.K. Unit Ware (Rs.40,000), Ayyappan Seva Sangham (Rs.10,001) and Tirupur Pulalar Magalir Mandram (Rs.10,000). The founder of Kadri Mills, Kannappan, handed over export grade blankets worth more than Rs.8 lakhs to the Collector, to be distributed among the tsunami victims.
