COIMBATORE, JAN. 25. Nehru Maha Vidyalaya College of Arts and Science, Malumachampatti will organise Regalia 2005, inter-college fest on January 27.

Seminar

The Department of English, PSGR Krishnamal College for Women will conduct a national seminar on February 7 on Environmental Ethics and Literature.

Eminent professors from various parts of the country are expected to participate in the seminar that focuses on man's relationship with the environment and nature. More than 60 research papers are expected to the presented.

Grievances day

A grievances day meet for farmers will be held at the Coimbatore Collectorate on January 27 at 10 a.m. The Collector, S. Kosalaraman, will preside over the meeting.

Competition

Kannan Jubliee Coffee and Red Chilli & Hot Pepper will jointly organise Pyramid Fine Arts Rangoli Competition on January 26 at the Raman Koil in Ramnagar.

Tsunami relief

Tsunami relief handed over to the district administration so far has touched Rs.2.3 crores. Today relief amount of over Rs.3 lakhs was handed over to the Collector, S. Kosalaraman.

The contributors were: Tea Trade Association (Rs.1.10 lakhs), Gold-Silver Merchants Association (Rs.52,500), Hairdressers Association (Rs.49,700), T.K. Unit Ware (Rs.40,000), Ayyappan Seva Sangham (Rs.10,001) and Tirupur Pulalar Magalir Mandram (Rs.10,000).

The founder of Kadri Mills, Kannappan, handed over export grade blankets worth more than Rs.8 lakhs to the Collector, to be distributed among the tsunami victims.
