Partly cloudy sky with a spell of rain or thundershower is likely on Wednesday. Minimum temperature will be around 22 degrees Celsius.

At Waltair, the maximum temperature was 29.5 degrees C and the minimum 23.6 degrees C respectively on Tuesday. Humidity at 8.30 a.m. was 84 per cent and at 5.30 p.m was 82 per cent. At airport, the maximum and minimum temperatures were 30.6 degrees C and 22.6 degress C respectively. Humidity at 8.30 a.m. was 71 per cent and at 5.30 p.m. was 73 per cent. The maximum temperature at the Dolphin's Nose was 29.6 degrees C and the minimum temperature was 22.5 degrees C. Humidity at 8.30 a.m. was 82 per cent.

VJF gesture to

tsunami-hit

The Vizag Journalist Forum (VJF) on Tuesday presented a draft for Rs.40,000 to the Chief Minister, Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, as its contribution for rehabilitation work in tsunami-affected areas. Dr. Reddy lauded the gesture of journalists when the VJF president, S.S. Siva Sankar, handed it over to him before his departure to Hyderabad.

Eye camp

Lions Club of Visakhapatnam organised an eye check-up camp for students in MVP Colony on Tuesday. The vision scanning was done by the optometrist, S. Hari Prasad, and the technicians of Lawrence and Mayo. About 300 students attended.

Paratha fete

Green Park is organising a `Parathas & Curries' festival at its Princess restaurant from Tuesday. The menu includes mouthwatering varieties of veg and non-veg parathas like kheema paratha, Kerala paratha, egg paratha and aloo paratha, along with curries like masala curry, achari mutter paneer and chicken tikka, according to the hotel general manager, T. Atchi Reddy. Guests would be given beer and ice cream as complimentary.

Exam put off

The Technical Certificate Course examinations, scheduled to be held from Thursday, have been postponed, according to a statement issued by the District Education Officer.

R'Day buffet

Hotel Dolphin is organising a `Republic Day buffet' at its multi-cuisine Horizon restaurant. The delicacies to be served include soups and salads, fish Amritsari, murgh uttar dakshin, mutton roganjosh, aloo, capsicum, butter flavour tiranga rice, sweets and ice cream. The special buffet will be on from 12.30 p.m. to 3.30 p.m.
