`Defence week' at Appu Ghar

NEW DELHI JAN. 26. Appu Ghar is giving special concession for tickets to Army, Air Force and Navy personnel, both serving and retired, as part of its "Defence Week'' celebrations. Members of the paramilitary forces can also avail of the offer, which is on till January 30. However, the personnel and their family members will have to carry their identity cards as proof.

In addition to this, there would be daily lucky draws and on January 30 a bumper draw would be held.

Annual Day celebrated

NEW DELHI JAN. 26. Sachdeva Public School in Pitampura celebrated its Annual Day and prize distribution function at its premises on Tuesday.

The chairman of the school, S.K. Sachdeva, presided over the function that was attended by eminent educationists and members of the school managing committee.

A cultural programme was presented by students to mark the occasion. To emphasise the need to live in harmony with environment, tiny tots presented a play titled "Nature's Splendour". The students also presented an item which depicted the mammoth devastation caused by tsunami. They later prayed for peace and happiness of humankind.

Thyagaraja Aradhana

NEW DELHI JAN. 26. Vasundhara Enclave Sarveswara Samaj will organise Sri Thyagaraja Aradhana this coming Sunday, January 30, at the temple site opposite City Apartments in Vasundhara Enclave here.

The programme will start at 9-45 a.m. with Thyagaraja krithis, followed by group rendering of Pancharatna krithis led by Visalam Venkatachalam.
