By Our Staff Reporter

HYDERABAD, JAN. 26. The Chief Minister, Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy, will leave for China on a six-day official visit from January 30.

On his maiden foreign tour after taking over as Chief Minister, Dr. Reddy will be accompanied by his Cabinet colleagues, N. Raghuveera Reddy and Ponnala Laxmaiah. The Chief Minister has been invited by the Chinese Government, which was impressed by the pro-farmer policy of the State Government and the thrust given to the irrigation sector.

He will arrive in Beijing on January 30 and attend a dinner hosted by the Indian Ambassador, according to a tour programme released here on Wednesday. The next day he meets the Agriculture Minister, Du Qinglin, and the Vice-Chairman of the National People's Congress (NPC), Gu Xiulian. On February 1, Dr. Reddy will leave for the International Department of the CPC Central Committee and meet the Assistant Minister, Chen Fengziang.
